The Life Of Unwanted Jonases
Chapter 12
**Kevin's POV**
Alex is really amazing. I learned so much about her. Things I never knew about my own sister. She caught me up on all the details of her life. Like what's going on with her grades, how she got accepted into the freshman honors program for next year, her big dance recital next week, her softball tournaments, things like that. My sister, one person I should have known my whole life, feels like a complete stranger to me.
"So, what day is your dance recital?" I asked.
"Why do you care?" Alex replied.
"Cause I wanna go."
"You're just gonna be bored."
"I really wanna see you dance so just tell me."
She sighed. "It's Wednesday night, 7 P.M."
"I'll be there, I promise."
"Pinky promise?"
I laughed. "Yeah." I said, interlocking my pinky finger with hers. "So, does Jess dance, too?"
"Uh, no. She sings. Yeah, even though were twins, we're total opposites. While she sits inside and plays debate club, I'm outside spraypainting a teacher's house." Alex replied.
"Al, why do you rebel against things?" I asked.
"I don't know, it's just me. I've seen my sister get stepped on because she doesn't stand up for herself. I don't wanna end up like her so I just question authority."
I really didn't know what to say, I knew that meant she was the one to protect Jessica, while it was supposed to be me.
"Oh, I guess that's understandable." I said.
We drove home and Joe looked at me with a serious look.
"Can I talk to you alone?" He said.
"Sure, Alex, go upstairs." I said.
Alex gave me a hug and walked upstairs.
"What's up?" I asked.
"I'll tell you what's up." Joe answered.
